Powerful, concentrated Pinot madeleine from old vines. Impressive palate with spicy and berry-like notes and a long finish.

Vine yard:

The vineyard is located in the village of Varnhalt in the Baden-Baden wine area. The terroir consists of residual granite soil with steep south/south-west slopes.

Yield:

44 hl/ha; Sugar content at harvest 94 °Oe.

Analyses:

Alcohol 13,0 % by vol.; Residual sugar 0,6 g/l; Total Acidity 5,3 g/l.

Vinification:

The hand-picked grapes were gently destemmed. A traditional fermentation on the skins was conducted for 15 days followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation of the wine in oak barrels.
